Baseball Game Preview: Mountain View Bruins vs. Payson Lions

For the second straight game, Mountain View will face off against Payson. The Bruins will host the Lions at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Mountain View is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.

Mountain View will bounce into Wednesday's game after beating Payson, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Bruins were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over the Lions on Monday. The game was the first time the Bruins have beaten the Lions on their field since May 3, 2024.

The team relied heavily on Jack Akin, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. He has become a key player for Mountain View: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-6 otherwise.
