Volleyball Recap: Bishop McGuinness Takes a Loss

If Bishop McGuinness was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Western Guilford on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Villains lost 3-0 to the Christ the King Crusaders on Thursday. The Villains were not able to make up for their loss to the Crusaders from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

While Bishop McGuinness ultimately came up short, they really made Christ the King work, particularly in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 27-25, 25-20.

Gwen Feeney paced Bishop McGuinness' offense, picking up four kills. Feeney got some help from JoJo Seeber and her seven assists. Feeney also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Sasha Thompson, racking up three apiece.

Bishop McGuinness' defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Christ the King, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Bishop McGuinness has already played their next matchup (against Grimsley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Christ the King, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Mooresville on the 20th.
