Preview: Independence vs. Albany

Albany will challenge Independence on the road at 7:00 PM on Friday. Albany is expected to win -- but not by much -- so they will need to come into the game prepared for a fight.

Albany gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener last week. They came out on top against Varnado with a 13-6. Senior Justin Parrish, who rushed for 107 yards and 1 touchdown, was a major factor in Albany's success. In fact, with 9 tackles Parrish was a force on both sides of the ball.

Meanwhile, Independence couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 12-35 punch to the gut against Archbishop Hannan.

Albany's victory lifted them to 1-0 while Independence's defeat dropped them down to 0-1. We'll find out if Albany can add another positive mark to their record or if Independence can shake off the defeat and take the spring out of Albany's step.
