Baseball Recap: Granada Takes a Loss

Granada extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping their season record down to 1-11 in the process. They came up short against the Eads Eagles, falling 14-1. The Bobcats were not able to make up for their loss to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

As for Eads, the win keeps they at an undefeated 12-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average this season.

For Eads' part, Adyn Hough made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Hough has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Johnathan Vasquez, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Stockton Mitchek was another key player, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.

While Granada had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
