Basketball Recap: Philadelphia Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Philadelphia can now relate to. They had to suffer through an 81-37 loss at the hands of the New Site Royals. While losing is never fun, the Tornadoes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 208th, while the Royals are ranked 95th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead New Site to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chloe Chism, who posted 15 points in addition to eight boards and seven assists. The match was Chism's third in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayla Stanley, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and five steals.

Philadelphia's defeat dropped their record down to 11-15. As for New Site, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-10.

Philadelphia does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for New Site, they will face off against O'Bannon at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. O'Bannon will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something New Site surely won't give up without a fight.
