Basketball Game Preview: Encina Bulldogs vs. Oakmont Vikings

The Encina Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Oakmont Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Encina is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Futures on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Encina took a blow against Futures, falling 76-39. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-11.

Meanwhile, Oakmont opened the new year with a less-than-successful 47-34 loss to Del Campo. The Vikings have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Oakmont's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Encina, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.
