Liberty faced Sunnyslope in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Lions won by a set and slipped past the Vikings 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Lions have posted since October 15, 2024.

Despite the loss, Sunnyslope had strong showings from Lilli Schmitt, who had eight digs and two aces, and Emma Easton, who had seven digs and three assists.

Liberty has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Sunnyslope, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 19-10.

Liberty didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Horizon on the 12th. As for Sunnyslope, they will be playing at home against Xavier College Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
