Baseball Recap: Mount St. Joseph Falls Short Against Ranked Dematha

Mount St. Joseph faced DeMatha in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Gaels took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Stags. The Gaels were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Stags apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2022.

Mount St. Joseph's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for DeMatha, their win bumped their record up to 15-7.

Coming up, Mount St. Joseph will host Boys Latin at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. The Gaels' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lakers have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season. As for DeMatha, they will challenge Archbishop Carroll at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
