Soccer Game Preview: Vidor vs. Hamshire-Fannett

The Vidor Pirates will be defending their home pitch for the first time this season when they go up against the Hamshire-Fannett Longhorns at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Vidor is coming home looking for redemption after taking a loss in their road opener. They lost 3-0 to Port Neches-Groves on Tuesday. Hayden Segrest was hit with a yellow card, which may have had some impact on his (and the team's) ability to make aggressive plays.

Vidor's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.

As for Hamshire-Fannett, they've got a clean slate this season. Last year, they finished on the wrong side of .500 (8-17-2), but they'll be hoping to turn things around this year.

Everything went Vidor's way against Hamshire-Fannett when the teams last played back in January of 2023, as Vidor made off with a 4-1 victory. Will Vidor repeat their success, or does Hamshire-Fannett have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
