Football Game Preview: Westside Rams vs. Emerald Vikings + How To Watch

The Westside Rams will take on the Emerald Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

As a matter of fact, Westside put up the most points they have all season on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 55-0 victory over Southside. Given the Rams' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 70th, while the Tigers are ranked 232nd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Emerald was just a hair shy of victory on Friday and fell 45-44 to Wren. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Westside will need to focus on slowing down Beau Hite, one of several Emerald players who made an impact when they last played. He threw for 270 yards and three TDs while picking up 12.3 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 70 yards on only eight carries. Christopher Dean was another key player, gaining 181 total yards and two touchdowns.

The win made it two in a row for Westside and bumps their season record up to 2-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 20 points in those games. As for Emerald, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Everything went Westside's way against Emerald when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as Westside made off with a 41-17 win. Do the Rams have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Vikings turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
