Soccer Recap: Coosa Snaps Three-Game Streak of Losses at Home

On WednesdayMt. Zion kept up with Coosa until halftime, but afterwards: not so much. Coosa's defense stepped up to hand Mt. Zion a 5-0 shutout. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for Coosa considering their one-goal performance the contest before.

Coosa's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-4. As for Mt. Zion, they dropped their record down to 3-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Coosa will square off against Fannin County at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Fannin County knows how to get goals on the board -- the team has finished with four goals or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Coosa likes a good challenge. As for Mt. Zion, they will head out to challenge Douglas County at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
