Basketball Recap: Junipero Serra Comes Up Short

Junipero Serra was the 62-46 winner over Saint Francis when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Junipero Serra Padres took a 44-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Saint Francis Lancers. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Padres came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 56th, while the Lancers are ranked 426th).

Junipero Serra dropped their record down to 10-6 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Saint Francis, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-10.

Junipero Serra will welcome Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Saint Francis, they will venture away from home to challenge Archbishop Mitty at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
