Baseball Recap: Stone Memorial Takes a Loss

Monday just wasn't the day for Stone Memorial's offense. They fell just short of the Cumberland County Jets by a score of 2-0 on Monday. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Panthers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Stone Memorial saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Talyn Hurd, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Stone Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Cumberland County, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-14 record this season.

While Stone Memorial had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
