Baseball Recap: Wyoming East Beats Oak Hill for Their Third Straight Victory

Wyoming East extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday, bumping their season record up to 19-6 in the process. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Oak Hill Red Devils. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-5 back in April.

Jarrod Phillips spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Talan Muscari, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. Zach Hunt was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

As for Oak Hill, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season. They have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

On Oak Hill's side, Owen Grose made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run. Grose is becoming a predictor of the Red Devils' success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-1 (and 4-15 when he doesn't).

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wyoming East will challenge River View at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Oak Hill, they will take on Riverside at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
