Basketball Game Preview: Calhoun Yellow Jackets vs. Ridgeland Panthers

The Calhoun Yellow Jackets will take on the Ridgeland Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, Calhoun earned a 52-39 victory over Adairsville. Given the Yellow Jackets' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 85th, while the Tigers are ranked 209th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Ridgeland can bid farewell to their 16-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They managed a 35-30 win over Southeast Whitfield County.

Calhoun is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.8 points per game. As for Ridgeland, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-19.

Everything came up roses for Calhoun against Ridgeland in their previous meeting back in January, as the team secured a 62-13 win. Will Calhoun repeat their success, or does Ridgeland have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
