Baseball Recap: Piqua Now 6-2 over Last Eight Games

Piqua won the last time they faced Fairborn and things went their way on Monday too. The Indians came out on top against the Skyhawks by a score of 4-1.

Hunter Steinke spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 12 Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Cohen Brown, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Shawler, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Piqua has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Fairborn, they dropped their record down to 5-10-1 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.
