Basketball Game Preview: Archbishop Ryan Raiders and Ragdolls vs. Lansdale Catholic Crusaders

Archbishop Ryan has gone 10-0 against Lansdale Catholic recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Archbishop Ryan Raiders and Ragdolls will look to defend their home court against the Lansdale Catholic Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. Archbishop Ryan is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.8 points per game this season.

On Wednesday, Archbishop Ryan needed a bit of extra time to put away Archbishop Carroll. They secured an 84-79 W over the Patriots. The victory almost wasn't to be: the Raiders and Ragdolls were down 44-22 in the second quarter.

It was another big night for Brandon Russell, who went 12 for 20 on his way to 36 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 15.6 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Matt Johnson, who posted six points along with six assists and six boards.

Meanwhile, Lansdale Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a hard 63-46 fall against Cardinal O'Hara. While losing is never fun, the Crusaders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 124th, while the Lions are ranked 14th).

Lansdale Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Archbishop Ryan, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 6-6.

Everything went Archbishop Ryan's way against Lansdale Catholic in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, as Archbishop Ryan made off with a 71-50 victory.
