Basketball Recap: Tyson Tremain Key Part of a Team Effort in Cardinals Win

There's no place like home for Seton Catholic, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against the Union County Patriots by a score of 60-51 on Saturday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cardinals also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Seton Catholic to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tyson Tremain, who went 6 for 9 on his way to 21 points. The dominant performance gave Tremain a new career-high in points. Grant Semler was another key player, going 5 of 8 on his way to 18 points and three steals.

Union County's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Fenton Coyle, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 16 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Watterson, who went 8 of 13 en route to 20 points and five rebounds.

Seton Catholic's record now sits at 6-8. As for Union County, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Seton Catholic will head out to take on Connersville at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Union County, they will venture away from home to face off against Franklin County at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
