Basketball Recap: Floyd Takes a Loss

Floyd was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Gateway Christian Warriors and fell 69-29. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, with their most recent loss being a 68-27 defeat two weeks ago.

Several Broncos players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jimmy Lovato, who posted nine points. The dominant performance also gave Lovato a new career-high in shooting accuracy (57%). Issak Bustamante was another key player, putting up ten points.

It was another big night for Grady Munson, who went 8-for-13 on his way to 22 points and six steals for Gateway Christian. Munson has been hot recently, having posted five or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Zack McCracken, who earned 11 points.

Floyd's loss dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Gateway Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season.

Floyd does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Gateway Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Dora at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Dora will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Gateway Christian surely won't give up without a fight.
