Pinecrest Academy has gone a perfect 3-0 against St. John Bosco Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Paladins will head out to challenge St. John Bosco Academy at 7:00 p.m. Pinecrest Academy has given up an average of 63 points per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 85-48, which was the final score in Pinecrest Academy's tilt against The King's Academy on Monday. The Paladins have struggled against the Knights recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the defeat, Pinecrest Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Michael Lynch dropped a double-double with 18 points and 18 rebounds. Those 18 boards set a new season-high mark for Lynch. Another player making a difference was Nick Keyman, who shot 45% from the field en route to 14 points and five steals.
Meanwhile, St. John Bosco Academy hadn't done well against Fideles Christian recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. St. John Bosco Academy took down Fideles Christian 60-43. St. John Bosco Academy pushed the score to 50-30 by the end of the third, a deficit Fideles Christian cut but never quite recovered from.
St. John Bosco Academy's win came from a few key players Pinecrest Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jacob Lemoine, who posted 14 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. He is becoming a predictor of St. John Bosco Academy's success: when he posts at least three steals the team is undefeated (and 1-2 when he doesn't). Liam McCavitt was another key player, putting up 12 points and seven steals.
St. John Bosco Academy pushed their record up to 4-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.4 points over those games. As for Pinecrest Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Pinecrest Academy and St. John Bosco Academy are some of the highest-scoring teams around. The Paladins haven't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 55 points per game. However, it's not like St. John Bosco Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 63 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can put up more.
Pinecrest Academy strolled past St. John Bosco Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 by a score of 77-59. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Paladins since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
