Basketball Recap: Three Straight Home Victories for Payson

Timpanogos came into Friday's matchup looking for another win against Payson, but Legend Reynoso wouldn't allow it. The Payson Lions managed a 56-52 victory over the Timpanogos Timberwolves on Friday thanks in part to Reynoso, who went 7 of 13 en route to 20 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The contest was his fourth in a row with at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Joesph Wolfe, who went 5 for 7 on his way to 13 points and three steals. That's the most steals he has posted since back in November of 2024.

Despite the loss, Timpanogos still got an impressive performance from Gavin Messmer, who went 6 of 10 from beyond the arc en route to 26 points. Another player making a difference was Jack Johnson, who posted 12 points and six boards.

Payson's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-5. As for Timpanogos, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-6 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Payson will take on Mountain View at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Payson is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62 points per game this season. As for Timpanogos, they will face off against Uintah at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Timpanogos also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 61.5 points per game.
