Softball Recap: Raleigh Has No Trouble Against Bogue Chitto

It's playoff time, and Raleigh had no trouble coming through when it counted. Everything went their way against the Bogue Chitto Bobcats on Thursday as they made off with a 14-4 win.

Laney Powell made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Powell was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Lydia Bryant and Kinley Delcid did most of the damage at the plate: Bryant went 5-for-6 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Delcid went 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBI. Those five hits gave Bryant a new career-high. Macie Harris also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Raleigh always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .520. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bogue Chitto only posted an OBP of .290.

Raleigh's record is now 11-17-1. As for Bogue Chitto, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-17.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Raleigh beat the Bobcats by a score of 9-6 on Friday.
