Recap: Mio-Au Sable Thunderbolts vs. Alcona Tigers
After a string of three wins, the Mio-Au Sable Thunderbolts's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a hard 50-34 fall against Alcona. Mio-Au Sable was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Alcona apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Alcona's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jacob Renchenski, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds. Garrett Somers was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five steals.
Mio-Au Sable's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Alcona, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mio-Au Sable will take on Posen at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Michigan (Posen is ranked 569th, while Mio-Au Sable is ranked 573rd). As for Alcona, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Fairview at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fairview is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
