Baseball Recap: Mount Si Triumphs

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Mount Si ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Issaquah Eagles, sneaking past 4-3. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Mount Si gave Kainoa Keith the start and clearly made the right call: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Keith has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Mount Si saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Austin Catini, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI. Those two RBI gave Catini a new career-high. Another was Alex Ott, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Mount Si now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Issaquah, their loss dropped their record down to 8-11.

Mount Si will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
