Recap: Clover Garden School Grizzlies vs. Eno River Bobcats
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Clover Garden School Grizzlies ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They secured a 40-35 W over Eno River. The victory was just what Clover Garden School needed coming off of a 56-35 loss in their prior game.
Clover Garden School found their leader in underclassman Hanna Tickle, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten steals. Tickle is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennedy Harrelson, who scored 12 points along with four steals.
Eno River's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Madison Hobbs, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Hobbs hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. Sadie Olson was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with two steals.
Even though they lost, Eno River were working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Clover Garden School only posted three assists.
Clover Garden School has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season. As for Eno River, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clover Garden School's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Woods Charter at 6:00 p.m. on February 13th. As for Eno River, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Oxford Prep at 6:00 p.m. on February 9th. Eno River is facing Oxford Prep at the right time seeing as Oxford Prep is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
