Prescott is 9-1 against Flagstaff since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Badgers will be playing at home against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Prescott has given up an average of 30.1 points per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
The home team had won the previous three meetings between Prescott and Coconino, and Coconino kept the tradition alive. The Badgers received a blow on Friday as they fell 42-26 to the Panthers. The Badgers were down 42-14 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Kenny Miller-Terry, who picked up 225 receiving yards and three touchdowns. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making three total tackles and defending one pass. Giovanni Pugliese was another key passer, throwing for 316 yards and three TDs.
Even if they lost, Prescott's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Rutger Funk, Gunnar Parra, and Eli Allen, who each picked up one sack apiece. Prescott got some further help from Funk: he picked up a sack, forced two fumbles, and made five total tackles.
Meanwhile, Flagstaff was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were dealt a 60-7 loss at the hands of Mohave. Surprisingly, this marked the Eagles' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.
Prescott will have to contain Will Carpenter as he made an impact in Flagstaff's last game. He picked up 98 receiving yards and one score. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 79 yards.
Flagstaff's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Prescott, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
Everything came up roses for Prescott against Flagstaff when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 30-3 win. Will the Badgers repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
