Baseball Recap: Stone Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Stone had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 9-4 win over the Wayne County War Eagles. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 5-4 win on Thursday.

The team relied heavily on Kellan Burge, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Nolan Scott, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Stone lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post two or more home runs.

Stone's victory bumped their record up to 16-12. As for Wayne County, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-19.

As of now, neither Stone nor the War Eagles have any future games scheduled.
