Basketball Recap: East Takes a Loss

East suffered their biggest defeat since November 27, 2024 on Friday. 2025 welcomed they with a 67-46 loss courtesy of the Alta Hawks. The Leopards haven't had much luck with the Hawks recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

When it comes to explaining why East lost, don't look at Logan Lunt. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlie Moore, who posted nine points.

Alta's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dash Reiser, who went 7 for 14 en route to 20 points and six assists. The matchup was Reiser's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Zak Paepke, who went 9 of 12 on his way to 21 points.

East's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Alta, they pushed their record up to 11-1 with the victory, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Skyline the next time they take the court. Alta will head out to face Skyline at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while East will host them at 7:00 p.m. on January 10th.
