Baseball Recap: Hiwassee Dam Comes Up Short

Hiwassee Dam lost against Swain County last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Hiwassee Dam Eagles came up short against the Swain County Maroon Devils, falling 20-5.

Hiwassee Dam saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was ELIJAH COLE, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Hiwassee Dam's loss dropped their record down to 2-4-1. As for Swain County, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hiwassee Dam will head out to square off against Hayesville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hiwassee Dam has given up an average of 13 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Swain County, they will venture away from home to face off against Murphy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Murphy has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.67 runs per game on average), something Swain County will no doubt try to take advantage of.
