Softball Game Preview: Crescent Tigers vs. Belton-Honea Path Bears

Crescent is on an eight-game streak of home wins, while Belton-Honea Path is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Tigers will host the Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Crescent knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Belton-Honea Path likes a good challenge.

Crescent's hitters will try to repeat the strong performance they gave on Tuesday, when they got past West-Oak's usually-dominant pitching crew. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 12-5 margin over the Warriors. Considering the Tigers have won 11 contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Belton-Honea Path narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Woodmont 4-3. The Bears haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Crescent is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Belton-Honea Path, their win bumped their record up to 16-2.
