Softball Game Preview: Lee Park Prep Knights vs. Porter Ridge Pirates

The Lee Park Prep Knights will venture away from home to take on the Porter Ridge Pirates at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lee Park Prep is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.

Lee Park Prep took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Gaston Christian with a sharp 10-4 win. The victory continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won four in a row.

Ansley Green spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on nine hits. She also tossed five walks, marking her first of the season.

At the plate, Nevaeh Alexander was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and two triples. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Peyton Conway was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one triple.

Meanwhile, Porter Ridge suffered their closest loss since April 24, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Sun Valley by a score of 8-6.

Lee Park Prep now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Porter Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.
