Soccer Game Preview: Argyle vs. Birdville

It'll be a Battle of the Birds when Argyle take on Birdville at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Argyle is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last eight games.

Argyle's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. Everything went their way against Ryan as Argyle made off with a 5-0 win. Considering the Eagles have won eight games by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Birdville unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Colleyville Heritage by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty four goals in the game before, the Hawks couldn't push the score so high this time.

Argyle's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-2-1. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those six matches. As for Birdville, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-4.

Argyle came out on top in a nail-biter against Birdville when the teams last played back in February, sneaking past 1-0. Will Argyle repeat their success, or does Birdville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
