Baseball Game Preview: Clinton Maroons vs. Bloomington Central Catholic Saints

Clinton hasn't had much luck against Bloomington Central Catholic recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Maroons will venture away from home to face off against the Saints at 4:30 p.m.

Clinton managed to slip by Rantoul the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Maroons came up short against the Eagles on Tuesday, falling 8-2.

Clinton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colton Walker, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Meanwhile, Bloomington Central Catholic made easy work of Cornerstone Christian on Tuesday and carried off an 8-2 victory. The Saints haven't had any issues with the Cyclones recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Bloomington Central Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 3-13-1. As for Clinton, they now have a losing record of 7-8.

Clinton suffered a grim 8-0 defeat to Bloomington Central Catholic in their previous matchup back in April of 2018. Can the Maroons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
