Basketball Recap: Woods Cross Comes Up Short

If Woods Cross was feeling good fresh off their 68-45 takedown of Roy last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Woods Cross Wildcats fell just short of the Northridge Knights by a score of 68-65 on Wednesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 61-59 back in January.

Cael Lake continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Northridge, shooting 4-for-7 from downtown and dropping a double-double with 24 points and 11 boards. The matchup was Lake's third in a row with at least 16 points. Daniel Sunkuli was another key player, going 6-for-9 en route to 16 points.

Woods Cross' loss dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Northridge, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-14.

Coming up, Woods Cross will head out to face off against Bountiful at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bountiful will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Woods Cross surely won't give up without a fight. As for Northridge, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bonneville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Northridge knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Bonneville likes a good challenge.
