Recap: Fort Walton Beach Vikings vs. Bay Tornadoes
Even though The Fort Walton Beach Vikings have not done well against the Bay Tornadoes recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Fort Walton Beach blew past Bay 35-0 on the road. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Fort Walton Beach.
Eddie Love, jr was his usual excellent self, rushing for 100 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries. Another big playmaker for Fort Walton Beach was Ison Newcomb, who returned a punt for a touchdown.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Bay to a paltry ten yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Fort Walton Beach's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out six times before it was all said and done. The heavy lifting was done by Austin Bouck and Marcuise Taylor who racked up four sacks between them.
Fort Walton Beach is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Bay, they have fallen quite a ways from their 8-3 record last season and are now at 3-5.
Fort Walton Beach will look to defend their home field on Friday against Choctawhatchee at 7:00 p.m. Choctawhatchee is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Bay, they will head out on the road to face off against Rutherford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
