Basketball Recap: Smiths Station Comes Up Short

Smiths Station's tournament run continued when they took on Midfield on Thursday. The contest between the Smiths Station Panthers and the Midfield Patriots didn't end well, with the Smiths Station Panthers falling 62-46. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Midfield was led to victory by Malachi Robinson and Aaron Adams-Martin. Robinson dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 boards, while Adams-Martin went 7 of 11 on his way to 21 points. Robinson continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Armonie Franklin, who posted four points and nine assists.

Smiths Station's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Midfield, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-4.

Smiths Station wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 67-51 victory against Niceville on the 27th. As for Midfield, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 42-40 win against East Lake on the 27th.
