            Baseball Recap: Auburndale Apaches vs. Edgar Wildcats        
        
		
        
        
            Auburndale extended their losing streak  to four  on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 10-6 in the process. They lost  12-4 to the Edgar Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  7-0  on Tuesday.
As for Edgar, their victory was  their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 13-4. Considering they have won 11 matches by more than five  runs this season, Thursday's  blowout was nothing new.
For Edgar's part,  Leyton Schuett made a splash while hitting and pitching. He  struck out eight batters over  6.2 innings while giving up just two earned  (and two unearned) runs off   four  hits (and only one walk). Schuett has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with two  RBI and one  run.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Jase Apfelbeck, who  went 2-for-4 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Gavin Mauer, who  went 2-for-4 with three  RBI, one  run,  and one  double.
 Auburndale has  already played their next  game (against Athens), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Edgar also has no score uploaded for their next  contest, this one against Chequamegon.
