Preview: Continental Pirates vs. St. John's Bluejays
Continental has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the St. John's Bluejays at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Continental will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 799th, while St. John's is ranked 256th).
Last Saturday, things could have been worse for Continental, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 57-40 loss to Antwerp. Continental has not had much luck with Antwerp recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Meanwhile, St. John's took their contest at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 70-33 win over New Knoxville. That looming 70-33 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for St. John's yet this season.
Continental bumped their record down to 0-6 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for St. John's, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
Continental ended up a good deal behind St. John's in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, losing 56-40. Can Continental avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
