Basketball Game Preview: Minuteman Regional Minuteman vs. Mystic Valley Regional Eagles

The Minuteman Regional Minuteman will venture away from home to challenge the Mystic Valley Regional Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Minuteman Regional took a loss when they played away from home last Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They strolled past Academy of Notre Dame with points to spare, taking the game 81-67.

Meanwhile, Mystic Valley Regional entered their tilt with Northeast Metro RVT on Monday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They took their matchup with ease, bagging an 84-46 victory over the Knights. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 31 points or more this season.

Mystic Valley Regional pushed their record up to 13-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.3 points per game. As for Minuteman Regional, their victory bumped their record up to 7-9.

Minuteman Regional came up short against Mystic Valley Regional in their previous matchup back in January, falling 60-55. Can Minuteman Regional avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
