Basketball Game Preview: Barr-Reeve Vikings vs. Bloomfield Cardinals

The Barr-Reeve Vikings will take on the Bloomfield Cardinals at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Barr-Reeve will be strutting in after a win while Bloomfield will be coming in after a loss.

Last Thursday, Barr-Reeve was able to grind out a solid victory over North Daviess, taking the game 49-40.

Barr-Reeve's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hannah Bledsoe, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. Bledsoe is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Josie Knepp, who went 6 of 11 en route to 14 points along with five boards and five steals.

Meanwhile, Bloomfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a 44-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Eastern Greene.

Bloomfield's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Barr-Reeve, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Everything came up roses for Barr-Reeve against Bloomfield in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, as the team secured a 47-17 victory. Will Barr-Reeve repeat their success, or does Bloomfield have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
