Baseball Game Preview: Blue Ridge Fighting Tigers vs. Pickens Blue Flame

The Blue Ridge Fighting Tigers will head out to challenge the Pickens Blue Flame at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Things were looking good for Blue Ridge after they put the first points on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Pickens by a score of 5-4. The Fighting Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For Pickens' part, Lucas Torres tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched. Torres has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Jayden Ferguson was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. Cam Wilson also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Blue Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Pickens, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 1-5.
