Volleyball Recap: Olathe East Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Olathe East waltzed into their contest on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Derby Panthers. That's more bragging rights for the Hawks, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Olathe East not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Derby between 19 and 20 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-19.

Vaitea Atagi paced Olathe East's offense, picking up six kills. Atagi got some help from Stella Ruble and her eight assists. Emma Barrington controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Olathe East's victory bumped their record up to 8-19. As for Derby, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-15.

Olathe East wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Manhattan on the 11th. As for Derby, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 0-0 tie against Junction City/St. Xavier on the 11th.
