Baseball Game Preview: East Lincoln Mustangs vs. Victor Blue Devils

The East Lincoln Mustangs will face off against the Victor Blue Devils at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. East Lincoln is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.

Victor will be up against a hot East Lincoln squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Mustangs never let Brockport get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won six games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Evan Matile was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Brody Hager was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

East Lincoln always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .630. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Tuesday Victor sidestepped Tuscarora for a 2-0 win. That's two games straight that the Blue Devils have won by exactly two runs.

Victor pushed their record up to 2-1 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for East Lincoln, their victory bumped their record up to 12-4.
