Baseball Recap: Fort Lee Gets the Win

Fort Lee took a nine-run defeat the last time they faced off against Mahwah, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bridgemen came out on top in a nail-biter against the Thunderbirds on Wednesday, sneaking past 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bridgemen have posted since April 16, 2024.

Stephan Kim was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was CJ Senatore, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

The win made it two in a row for Fort Lee and bumps their season record up to 2-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Mahwah, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fort Lee will challenge Paramus Catholic at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Mahwah, they will square off against Northern Highlands at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
