Basketball Recap: Riverview Gets the Win

Riverview won the last time they faced Jefferson and Jaiden Woodson did his part to make sure it happened again. The Sharks enjoyed a cozy 70-54 win over the Dragons on Wednesday for which the team can thank Woodson, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 8.3 boards per game.

Brayden Frisby was another key player, shooting 50% from the field to rack up 12 points and four steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in each of the last three games he's played.

The victory got Riverview back to even at 4-4. As for Jefferson, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Riverview will host Sumner at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Sharks' defense better be ready for this one: the Stingrays have averaged an impressive 62.4 points per game this season. As for Jefferson, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Sickles at 7:00 p.m. The Gryphons will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Dragons surely won't give up without a fight.
