Salome snaps seven-game streak of wins on the road

Recap: Salome Frogs vs. St. David Tigers

The Salome Frogs and the St. David Tigers squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Salome Frogs had to settle for second. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 46-25 walloping at the hands of the Tigers. Salome's loss signaled the end of their 14-game winning streak.

Salome lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kaniece Thomas, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and five blocks. Thomas is crushing the block category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Grecia Leon was another key contributor, scoring four points along with two steals and two blocks.

Salome struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as St. David racked up 19 assists.

It was another big night for Anissa Jacquez, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and four steals for St. David. Jacquez hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Mayla Trejo, who scored 11 points along with five assists and four steals.

Salome's loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 24-7. As for St. David, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 27-2 record this season.

Salome does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. David, they will stay at home for another game and welcome St. Michael at 4:30 p.m. on February 16th.
