Nettleton took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against Batesville, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Raiders narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Pioneers 3-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Raiders.

Nettleton had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 15-25, 22-25, 25-18, 25-18, 15-12.

Jayla Jones paced Nettleton's offense, picking up nine kills. Jones got some help from Kennedy Massey and her 27 assists. Finally, Jones was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high five blocks.

Nettleton's win bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Batesville, they dropped their record down to 8-10 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Nettleton will challenge rival Paragould at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Batesville is set to face off against their familiar foe Searcy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
