Even though the Whitefield Academy WolfPack scored an imposing 80 points on Friday, the Rocky River Ravens still came out on top. Rocky River sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 82-80 victory over Whitefield Academy. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Rocky River.
Markiest Houston continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 39 points and 5 assists. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 13 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Shamari Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds.
Rocky River's victory bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Whitefield Academy, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.
Rocky River will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Butler at 7:30 p.m. on January 5th. Whitefield Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Mount Pisgah Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th.
