Softball Game Preview: Cedar Key Sharks vs. Eastside Rams

The Cedar Key Sharks will challenge the Eastside Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Cedar Key is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 17 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against P.K. Yonge on Thursday. They came up short against the Blue Wave, falling 11-1. The loss continues a trend for the Sharks in their meetings with the Blue Wave: they've now lost six in a row.

Meanwhile, Eastside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 16-2 to North Marion.

Eastside saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nylah Francois, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and two RBI. That triple was Francois' first of the season. Ste'Keriyonna Johnson was another, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one double.

Eastside's loss dropped their record down to 1-6-1. As for Cedar Key, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.

Everything went Cedar Key's way against Eastside in their previous meeting back in February, as Cedar Key made off with a 17-5 victory. Will Cedar Key repeat their success, or does Eastside has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
