Football Game Preview: Oasis Christian Lions vs. Saint Francis Catholic Academy Wolves

The Oasis Christian Lions will head out to square off against the Saint Francis Catholic Academy Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Oasis Christian's offense hasn't had much luck over their past six contests, but Friday's matchup will give them a chance to turn things around.

Last Thursday, Oasis Christian was beaten by Riverview Academy 42-6.

Even if they lost, Oasis Christian's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Brandon Earls refused to say out of the backfield, picking up two sacks all by himself. Oasis Christian got some further help from Earls: he picked up two sacks and made seven total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, Saint Francis Catholic Academy faced Countryside Christian in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Wolves took a 48-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Minutemen.

Oasis Christian will need to focus on slowing down Jake Long, one of several Saint Francis Catholic Academy players who made an impact when they last played. He rushed for 119 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 62 yards and one TD. Carson Long was another key player, rushing for 73 yards and one score on only eight carries.

Oasis Christian's record is now 1-8. As for Saint Francis Catholic Academy, their record now sits at 3-6.
